Noah Halpern is a trumpet player and songwriter with a passion to heal and uplift people through music. Winner of the 2023 ITG Carmine Caruso International Jazz Trumpet Competition, Noah has been a consistent force on the New York jazz scene for almost a decade, as well as performing at clubs and festivals all around the world.

Growing up in Seattle, WA, Noah began playing piano at the age of five, before switching to the trumpet at ten. His love of music was sparked upon discovering records of Miles Davis, Dizzy Gillespie, and Weather Report in his father’s record collection. He quickly began performing in his community, the earliest performance opportunities coming in front of a car wash in his neighborhood. Noah continued to develop his passion for music at Roosevelt High School, where he was selected to be a member of the Next Generation Jazz Orchestra, the Brubeck Jazz Colony, and was an award winner at the Essentially Ellington Jazz Festival. He received the “Waldo King Most Inspirational Award” from his high school upon graduation.

Noah moved to New York City in 2014 to attend The Juilliard School (BM ’18, MM ’19) where he received mentorship from great artists including Eddie Henderson, Frank Kimbrough, Joe Magnarelli, and more. He has since performed all around NYC and the world with artists including Wynton Marsalis, Jason Moran, KNOWER, Ulysses Owens, Lalah Hathaway, and many more. Noah’s interest in cross genre collaboration led him to be a cast member in the world-renowned immersive theater production “Sleep No More.” He has composed and performed music for dance ensembles (Juilliard New Dances), music videos (The Roof), electronic projects (Bob Infinite), the band Meridian Odyssey (of which he is a member), and his own project, the Noah Halpern Quartet. Noah currently resides in Brooklyn, NY.
